5.3.2 Model

All quantitative models are logistic regression models. Simultaneously to the analysis in Chap. 4, the models are based on Bayesian MCMC estimation and were calculated with the software MLwiN 2.35, as Bayesian approaches are suitable and increasingly used for logistic models (Hosmer et al. 2013, p. 408; see also O’brien and Dunson 2004; Congdon 2005)2 and applying consistent statistical approaches throughout the whole book increases the comprehensibility of the findings’ synthesis.

The formalisation of the four models of the analysis in this chapter can be summarised by Eq. (5.1) and follows Rasbash et al. (2012).
